I

I recently managed to source a pack of expired Polaroid TZ Artistic film for a good price, but have a stash of the latest Impossible Project Pioneer film, and was debating which to use first. After some persuading from IP themselves and mostly impulse, I loaded one of my SX70s and headed off on a photo walk with a friend.
I was anxious to use the film because of it’s expiration and not knowing how it was stored, but thankfully every turned out fine with the test shot I took, apart from I managed to lose it! Having played around with IP film for a few months now, the excitement of not having to shield the film was great and watching the film develop in front of my eyes was magic. Thankfully I had taken a photo in situ of the lost Polaroid and by the time I got back the light was perfect in my living room so inspired by some dying roses I took this still life.

Bradford Kirkgate, Olympus XA, Fuji Superia 100 on Flickr.#streettogs #believeinfilm It is funny how you get used to a certain focal length. I think really I have framed the shot for a 50mm length lens, as I have been shooting a lot with 50mm lenses on my Zorki 1, Fed 2 and Kiev 4. Which is ironic considering when I shoot with a 50mm I usually wish I had a 35mm, like the Olympus XA I have used here.
I am attempting none-facial street photography, which I think I probably failed at here. The focal point is supposed to be the central man’s leopard print carrier bag. I think I have missed the decisive moment and a tighter crop would have served me better, either through using a 50mm or by getting closer.
